Details about the new Wastewater Affordability Program are available on our Cost Saving Programs page, and Crisis Assistance Program details will be available in 2012. If you have any questions about our rates or saving programs, please email us or call (216) 881-8247.

Reasons behind a rate change

Several factors affect an increase in sewer rates. For the years 2012-2016, significant factors include an EPA-mandated program to reduce sewage discharges to the environment, and repairs to and maintenance of our existing sewer system.

Discounted rates for elderly and disabled, new programs added for 2012

The District's Homestead Rate program is available to customers age 65 or older, or to anyone under 65 who is totally disabled. In addition, our Summer Sprinkling program can reduce your rate between May and September. View all savings programs.

How sewer rates are determined

The District's Board of Trustees has exclusive authority and responsibility for establishing and maintaining the sewage service rates and charges (including differential rates for services provided to Subdistrict 1 and Subdistrict 2 customers) imposed for the services and facilities provided by the District. Rates established for sewage service are not presently subject to review or approval by any State of Ohio or Federal governmental or administrative agency.
