Regional Intercommunity Drainage Evaluation (RIDE) Study
Overview

The Regional Intercommunity Drainage Evaluation (RIDE) Study is a technical evaluation of intercommunity storm drainage problems across the designated RIDE Study area. It offers planning-level solutions and projected costs of improvement projects that address intercommunity drainage issues within the RIDE Study area.

RIDE Study Area

The RIDE Study area covers 348 square miles within the District's existing service area and drainage areas (subwatersheds) contributing to intercommunity storm drainage problems inside and immediately outside the current District service area.

RIDE Study Goals

The key goals of the RIDE Study are:
  • Development of planning-level solutions and costs for alleviation of intercommunity drainage problems,
  • Production of comprehensive intercommunity storm drainage system maps using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to consolidate storm drainage information for future use,
  • Development of tools to assist District service area communities in complying with EPA Phase II Storm Water Regulations, and
  • Collection of data needed for a regional stormwater management process.
For additional information about the RIDE Study, please contact the District's Engineering Department at (216) 881-6600.
