The Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District participates in the Greater Cleveland Joint Regional Certification program for Minority Business Enterprises (MBE) and Women's Business Enterprise (WBE) that wish to do business with the District and other Greater Cleveland Agencies.
The term "Minority Business Enterprise" (MBE) means a business at least fifty-one percent (51%) of which is owned and controlled by minority group members. The minority ownership must exercise actual day-to-day management. A minority is a member of one or more of the following groups: Black Americans, Hispanic Americans (with origins from Puerto Rico, Mexico, Cuba, South or Central America), Asian Americans and American Indians. A Women's Business Enterprise (WBE) is a business which is an independent business concern which is at least fifty-one percent (51%) owned by a woman or women who also control and operate it. Determination of whether a business is at least fifty-one percent (51%) owned by a woman or women shall be made without regard to community property laws.
The District maintains a Registry of District-certified MBE and WBE firms, which is updated monthly. If your firm qualifies as an MBE or WBE firm, please contact the District's Legal Department at 216-881-6600.
Firms already certified by the District must renew their certification annually using the Registry Recertificiation Form available on this page. Once completed, the form must be submitted to:
