Southerly Early Action Project 2A (SEA 2A)
The Southerly Early Action Project Contract 2A consists of projects 1 and 2, both located in Cuyahoga Heights near E. 71st Street. Project 1 involves the reconstruction of an existing combined sewer regulator structure and the installation of new sewers constructed in tunnel.

The new sewers involve micro-tunneling approximately 3,000 linear feet of 36-inch diameter direct jack pipe (HOBAS) mainly along Canal Road near E. 71st Street. The microtunnel operation will include several tunnel shafts including 20-foot diameter launching shafts and 15-foot diameter recovery shafts. These shafts are located along Canal Road and E. 71st Street. The new sewer connects to the Cuyahoga Valley Interceptor (CVI) just upstream of the CVI Lift Station north of Canal Road. The new regulator will be constructed just west of E. 71st Street about 600 feet north of Canal Road.

Project 2 involves a new regulator constructed at the end of Chapek Parkway, west of E. 71st Street and approximately 1,000 linear feet of 27-inch diameter reinforced concrete pipe constructed in open cut. The new sewer runs north of the Chapek Parkway within a permanent easement and connects to the recently constructed Mill Creek Tunnel through a deep drop shaft.
