 Water Quality
Since 1986, the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District has had a program to monitor the water quality in Lake Erie and in rivers and streams within the District's service area. Water quality monitoring is performed by the Water Quality and Industrial Surveillance's Environmental Assessment Section. The continuing purpose of this program is to:
  1. Document water quality improvements attributable to Sewer District facilities and programs
  2. Determine causes and sources of environmental disruptions and make recommendations for their remediation
  3. Coordinate monitoring activities with fellow agencies and other entities interested in protecting water quality and
  4. Provide a scientifically sound, current information basis for environmental planning and future pollution abatement projects
The sections below provide an overview of water monitoring activities.
