HOW WE BILL CUSTOMERS
On behalf of the District, the Cities of Cleveland, Cleveland Heights, Berea, and North Royalton bill customers for sewage charges on a quarterly basis. Our customers are billed based on metered water consumption. Customers who receive water service from Rural Lorain County Water Authority are billed on a bi-monthly basis.
WATER USAGE AND YOUR SEWER BILL
The Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District has a policy of levying a minimum quarterly bill for Domestic Sewerage Services. That minimum amount is the District rate for 1,000 cubic feet (or 7,480 gallons) of water consumed. Beyond this basic usage amount, District customers are billed at the current rates based on water consumed and use of the sewer system.
Customers with greater than 50,000 cubic feet (or 374,000 gallons) of annual water consumption may request that their billing for sewage service be based upon wastewater discharged into the sewer system. If their request is granted, one or more re-registering meters are installed and maintained, at the customer's expense, to determine the quantity of water that actually enters the sewer system, rather than water consumed. This is known as our Sewer Service Charge Based On Usage of The System.
