We understand the importance of living healthy, well-balanced lives. We encourage all of our employees and their families to take full advantage of our comprehensive benefits offering.

All full-time regular and part-time benefit eligible employees are provided a variety of solutions to meet the many challenges of daily life, including:

  • A first-class wellness program which offers opportunities to participate during normal business hours and to engage family members during non-working hours.
  • Benefit-eligible employees may enroll in health insurance as well as an optional vision, dental, and hearing plan.
  • Union employees have a waiting period of 90 days per the union contract with NEORSD.
  • The District’s health insurance is a PPO offered through Medical Mutual of Ohio. Employees contribute to their healthcare plan based on one of three levels of coverage: single, employee plus one, or family. Proof of relationship is required for coverage of dependents. Benefit-eligible employees who have proof of other coverage may elect a buy-out option.
  • Healthcare deductions are made out of the 1st and 2nd pays of each month. Employees may change election with a qualifying life event or during our annual open enrollment.

Retirement and savings

The District participates in the Ohio Public Employee Retirement System (OPERS). The District employee and employer contributions start with the 1st paycheck. Employees may select from three (3) plan options. In addition to OPERS, employees may also elect retirement savings through Ohio Deferred Compensation and/or Voya.
