NOTICE: Spill contained near Southerly treatment plant

December 15, 2017 — On Thursday, December 14, 2017, Ohio Bulk, a contractor for the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District, transported sludge from the Sewer District’s Southerly Wastewater Treatment Plant. During transportation, a portion of the sludge spilled from the contractor’s vehicle onto Canal Road; the impacted area began near Southerly’s main gate and continued approximately 700 feet eastbound toward the I-77 overpass. In addition, some sludge was found at the corner of Warner Road and Canal Road. The Sewer District coordinated with Badger Daylighting Corp to clean the area.
