The Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District Board of Trustees elected new officers for 2004 - 2005 at the July 15th Board of Trustees meeting. Mayor of Middleburg Heights Gary W. Starr replaced Michael L. Nelson as President, Darnell Brown was elected Vice President, and Ronald D. Sulik became Secretary.

Appointed by the Suburban Council of Governments in 1994, Mr. Starr has been Mayor of Middleburg Heights since 1981. He is also a member of the Cuyahoga County Mayors and City Managers Association.

Darnell Brown is Chief Operating Officer for the City of Cleveland. Formerly the Commissioner of the Division of Water Pollution and Control, Mayor Michael White appointed Mr. Brown to the Board in 2001.

The Suburban Council of Governments appointed Ronald Sulik to the Board in 2002. Mr. Sulik, a former District Trustee from 1985 to 1994, is currently employed as the Controller for United Automatic Heating Supply.

Other District Board members include Gerald M. Boldt, Sheila J. Kelly, Mayor of Garfield Heights Thomas J. Longo and Michael L. Nelson. The seven-member Board governs the District and is appointed by three different entities: the Mayor of Cleveland appoints three members, the Suburban Council of Governments appoints three and the Cuyahoga County Board of Commissioners appoints one. Board appointees serve five-year terms.
